We'd like to thank the Academy...

Iron Maiden have been doing very well in the polls that big rock/metal magazines tend to run at this time of year - we'd like to say a HUGE thank you to the fans who took the time to vote for the band (and the site!), it is very much appreciated!

#1 in the Best Album Category
#1 in the Best British Band Category
#1 in the Best Singer Category for Bruce
#1 in the Best Bassist Category for Steve

#2 in the Best Overall Band Category
#3 in Best Single for 'Rainmaker' and also #3 in Best Video for the same.
#3 for Nicko in the Best Drummer Category
#3 for IronMaiden.com in the Best Website

The Dance Of Death artwork came in at #8 in the Album Cover poll, Adrian was voted #5 in the Best Guitarist category, and both Bruce and Steve made in into the 'Man Of The Year' vote at #4 and #10 respectively.

Kerrang Spain
Maiden dominated the polls in the Spanish Kerrang, winning Best Group, Best Vocals, Best Bassist, Best Album - Dance Of Death, Best single - Wildest Dreams, Best Video - Wildest Dreams, Best Tour, Best website and were placed in the top four in every other category!

Metal Hammer Germany
Maiden scored a 2nd place in the Best Album chart, 5th place in Best Song for Paschendale, 6th place in Best Live Act and squeezed a number 10 spot for the Wildest Dreams video. They were also voted 5th Best Band Of All Time, with Number Of The Beast reaching 3rd place in the Best Song Of All Time chart, and the album of the same name voted 2nd Best Album Of All Time.

And finally... it's official - Iron Maiden are Best In Metal! Proper metal that is, the hard silvery stuff you make things from! Yes, as you can see in the picture, the Eddie's Archive Casket won a top accolade from the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association. Rock and roll!
