Live Shows – Filming, Recording and Online Uploads
We understand that fans want to capture memories of an Iron Maiden concert and share a few moments from an unforgettable night. We encourage fans to enjoy the experience first-hand and to be present in the moment. We want fans to experience the shows live, not through a screen, and not as a substitute online. To help strike the right balance between capturing memories and protecting the rights associated with the performance, the following guidelines apply to all Iron Maiden live shows.
What Is Allowed?
Fans may:
• Record short clips for personal use.
• Share occasional short clips on social media.
• Upload short clips to platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and similar services.
As a general guide, individual clips should typically be no longer than 90 seconds.
What Is Not Allowed?
The following activities are not permitted:
• Uploading full songs.
• Uploading multiple songs from the same performance.
• Uploading substantial portions of a performance.
• Uploading full concerts or near-complete concerts.
• Livestreaming any part of a performance.
• Recording with fixed-position setups intended to capture significant portions of the show.
• Use of tripods, professional camera rigs or similar recording equipment without authorisation.
• Sequential recording designed to recreate, reconstruct or replace the live experience.
• Multiple Uploads and Sequential Recording
Even where individual clips are short, content may still be considered unauthorised if, taken together, it reproduces a substantial portion of the performance. Uploading multiple short clips from the same performance may still be treated as unauthorised where, taken together, they reproduce a substantial part of the show, including where content is posted across multiple videos, posts, uploads, channels or accounts. Similarly, recording consecutive sections of a performance with the intention of reconstructing a song, multiple songs or the full show is not permitted.
Non-Commercial Uploads
The fact that content is shared without charge, is not monetised, or is uploaded for personal enjoyment does not make it permissible. These guidelines apply regardless of whether any revenue is generated from the content.
Copyright Enforcement
Iron Maiden performances, recordings and related content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights owned or controlled by the relevant rights holders. Content that exceeds these guidelines may be subject to copyright enforcement carried out using standard industry tools and processes on behalf of the relevant rights holders. This may include:
• Removal of content.
• Copyright claims.
• Copyright strikes.
• Other platform actions.
Not all content is identified immediately. Content may be reviewed and acted upon at any time.
Platform Rules
Enforcement outcomes are ultimately governed by the rules and policies of the relevant platform. Actions such as content removal, copyright strikes, account restrictions or channel termination are determined by the applicable platform and its procedures.
